"Operation Colletta" in Hampton, SC.   Colletta lost her home to a fire last year.  Having been blessed with enough insurance money to cover most of the materials for a new house, but not having any more, God's network led KC Carter of Missionary Supply to organize volunteers to build her home.  Paul Favreau drove down to Hampton on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, with two other Volunteer in Mission members from the Anderson VIM group.  When we got to the site, we found the slab waiting for us.  Others had laid the block walls and poured the foundation.  The stud walls had also been made ahead of time in the back yard.  By Wednesday evening, even with a small amount of drizzle, the walls had been set.  Thursday saw the wall sheathing up, the trusses set, and half of the roof decking in place.  When we left at 4pm on Friday, the roof had tarpaper on it, and all the windows and doors were in place.  Colletta was given a key to her home!

The three of us were joined by several others from Greenville, Greer, Columbia and the local Hampton area.  We were fed lunches at the nearby elementary school, one scrumptious supper by the men of the local Baptist Church, and we were put up in a beautiful hunting/fishing cabin just a few miles from Hampton.  What a remarkable trip, with memories of great fellowship and a fantastic feeling of doing something for a lady who will truly enjoy her new home.
